Tokens from the General Pool are a mixed combination of treecoin tokens from every forestry project around the world mixed together. They are not separately identifiable from any one project.

Where do the tokens come from in the TreeCoin General Pool?
TreeCoin itself does not charge any fee for Growers to join the platform and bring their forests in to be audited, we wanted Growers in poorer world regions to be able to take part without hurdles or upfront payments so instead we take a small commission of all treecoin (XCC) tokens which are generated at the end of each successful audit period (usually every 12 months).
The tokens you buy from the General Pool are therefore a mixed combination of some tokens from all of the forest projects active around the world, not from any single particular country or forest project.
Why are these tokens different prices to buying direct from a Grower?
When you buy tokens direct from a Grower, the Grower sets their own price. This might be based on reasons that the Growers feels that there project is unique or valuable. For example, the Grower might be managing a forest specifically to help build habitat for local animal species or to protect native tree types. The Grower sets the prices for their own project's token sales which they make directly Peer-to-peer.
The XCC tokens which are in the TreeCoin General Pool are a large mix of some of the tokens from every active forest project on the platform, but because these tokens are mixed together they can not be isolated to be from just one certain project / region or country. For this reason the General Pool tokens tend to be cheaper.
